On The Cover:
SORAYAMA
Inspired by the legendary Hajime Sorayama, this project is a fusion of his signature metallic sensuality and an Afro retro-futuristic vision. Some images directly reference Sorayama’s iconic paintings, reimagining his hyper-stylized, dreamlike figures through an Afrofuturist lens.
Blending nostalgia with futurism, I explore a world where chrome bodies, vintage aesthetics, and deep melanin tones coexist. The shoot plays with light, reflections, and textures, creating an atmosphere that feels cinematic.
Through Sorayama, I recontextualize the fantasy of perfection, power, and beauty within an African narrative—where the past informs the future, and the future reshapes the past.
